Lucinda Belcher

PGCE AISTD

Lucinda has been around dancing all her life, she started training at a very young age at The Lubrek School of Dancing, a local Dance school that her family owned. After it closed, she joined Allied Schools of Dance, competing in many local and national competitions with great success.

After several years away from dancing, Lucinda had the opportunity to choreograph a musical production for a local theatre company and realised her desire to return to the industry but in a teaching capacity. She completed a degree in Musical Theatre at Bath Spa University, graduating with a First Class Honours. She then went on to obtain a PGCE in Post 16 Education from Birmingham City University. During her studies, Lucinda decided to go back to her roots and gain teaching qualifications with the ISTD. She has since achieved her DDE level qualifications in Tap and Modern, as well as an Associate Diploma in Street/Commercial, all with the Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College. Lucinda was so thrilled to rejoin the Allied family, having come full circle and carrying on the family tradition of dance teaching. In 2018 she also became a freelance choreographer for local theatre companies and is thoroughly enjoying using her degree knowledge in both jobs and being able to spread her love of this business we call Show!
