Terms and Conditions

Enrolment

An enrolment form must be completed online before the students' trial lesson. This form and consent is your contract with Allied Schools of Dance (ASD). 

  • A full term's notice in writing must be given if a child is withdrawn from ANY class, or a term’s fees will be charged in lieu of notice. A full term consists of 11 weeks. School holiday weeks do not count as part of a term. 
  • Medical conditions must be disclosed to the School upon enrolment and thereafter. It is important that any learning difficulties are disclosed in order for us to provide support. 
  • By enrolling in the school you agree to receive emails from us such as term date reminders, timetables, exam notifications, newsletters and other general information relating to the school. 
  • It is vital that you let us know if your contact or emergency contact details change.


Fees & Payment

  • Fees are due in the first week of term.  You will find a payment date on your statement for each item that is charged. 
  • Students teachers will receive a discount on their invoice and must attend any training dates arranged. 
  • Arrangements may be made through our administration staff to pay the bill in instalments. 
  • Any returned cheques or electronic payments will be subject to an administration charge. 
  • Any invoice which remains unpaid three weeks after term commences will have a £25 administration charge added following a reminder. Invoices which have been queried, will have a new due date created on the adjusted invoice. 
  • Any fees that remain unpaid at the end of the school year will be passed to a collection agency. If an arrangement with ASD has been made an exception will be made in this case. 
  • Private lessons scheduled will be charged at the full rate with no exceptions. There are no discounts available for these classes. In the event of a student not attending the lesson, the full amount will be charged. 
  • A full term’s notice must be received in writing (email is acceptable) in order to cancel a class. If we do not receive a cancellation notice from you, a full term’s fees will be added to your account. 
  • No refunds will be given for missed classes or classes that are cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. Affected pupils may attend any similar lesson timetabled in order to make up the affected lesson. Parents should make this arrangement through the Principal. 

General

  • Children must be supervised by an adult in the waiting areas until they are called into class. Students should be collected from inside the building promptly at the end of their lesson. Please inform us if someone different is collecting your child. 
  • From time to time it is necessary for the teachers to use physical contact when helping to improve pupils’ posture or assist in movements. This includes physical contact between students ie. holding hands, assisting with technique, choreographically. 
  • Teachers will make appropriate decisions about when a student is ready to be entered for an examination. You will be notified when your child has reached the appropriate standard and given information about extra exam classes that your child should attend. 
  • Dances choreographed by the school's teachers may not be performed or videoed without permission due to copyright restrictions.
  • Teachers will complete regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in accordance with their memberships to examining boards. 
  • We have a Privacy Policy available to read on our website. It contains important information about how we collect and use your data. 
  • ASD reserve the right to introduce new regulations for the better running of the school. All students will be expected to adhere to these regulations and duly accept any revised terms and conditions. 
  • ASD reserves the right to alter the timetable, change venue and fees. we will do our utmost to give reasonable notice. 
  • ASD do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. 

Code of Conduct

  • All students should arrive promptly and regularly, be properly groomed and wearing the correct uniform as stated on our website. No jewellery should be worn. 
  • All late arrivals should wait at the studio door until the music has stopped playing, before entering. 
  • All pupils must show good discipline in their approach to classes and be respectful to both teachers and fellow students at all times. This will ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone. This is equally important when representing the school and at outside events. 
  • Permission must be sought beforehand from the Principal if you wish to take part in any outside classes, auditions, courses or performances involving dance and drama, including holiday classes.
  • The school does not discriminate on background, race or religion, it regularly monitors staff to maintain school teaching policies and adheres to Health and Safety procedures to ensure that each child dances in a class appropriate to their level of development.
  • Please do not disturb a class in progress. We are happy to discuss any problems or your child's progress by telephone, email or by appointment.
  • Anyone observing classes should do so quietly and not interfere with the lesson taking place. Please remove any siblings if they are disturbing the class. All mobile phones should be on silent mode when in the studio please. 
  • Pupils will be asked to leave without notice for any serious breach of the school’s terms and conditions or for any other serious misconduct.
